Difference adds spice to life! As offered in our Tasting Room in Paarl, the Something Different Case is a compilation of the most exciting and unusual varieties that our winemakers are working with in the cellar. Go on, try something different – perfect to impress friends at a dinner party!

This case consists of:

Fairview Verdelho

Verdelho is a white wine grape originating from Madeira an island of Portugal. A first for Fairview, yet another exciting wine in our portfolio! As a fresh, tropical style white, this wine is a dream pairing for long, lazy lunches.

Fairview Drie Papen Fontein

Named after the granite mountain rocks which resemble the mitre's of three popes on the farm of Drie Papen Fontein, this wine stems from vines planted in deep, iron percolated soils. Impress friends with this bold blend that balances Sauvignon Blanc's racy minerality with the luscious and textured Semillon.

Fairview Piekenierskloof Grenache

We've carefully cultivated a home for old Grenache bush vines along the Piekenierskloof mountains where, with extreme weather conditions and poor soils, the high lying vineyards undeservedly reward us with a profound style of wine. Having provided the backbone to some of our finest blends, we are proud to bring this single variety to the fore. If you're new to reds, this is a foolproof place to start, offering a lighter style wine with plenty of red fruit and soft tannins.

Fairview Cinsault

This fruit forward, easy drinking variety is a perfect starting point for any new red wine drinkers thanks to the lighter skins, lower tannins and soft perfume. For our Cinsault in particular, we've used old Paarl vines that have been manicured for over thirty years to produce the most profound expression of this elegant wine.

Fairview Extraño

Always on the hunt for the exciting, we’ve cultivated a stranger (Extraño) in our vineyards, delicately taming Tempranillo's temperamental streak by integrating fellow Spanish varieties Grenache and Carignan.

Fairview Homtini

Named after our chief winemaker’s ancestral heritage, this wine channels the pioneering spirit of Anthony de Jager's forefathers, blending together Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Shiraz into a refined Italian style blend. This is a winning dinner party favour.
