Cobus Basson was a beloved young farm owner who lost his leg when a tractor overturned in the Carignan vineyard. Being a man of great spirit, he affectionately became known as 'Houtbeen' (Pegleg). This is our homage to him and the oldest Carignan vineyard in South Africa. Ideal for the drinkers on the hunt for a wine with enormous character and depth of flavour.

Light and bright red colour. Aromas of red cherry, cranberries and hints of fynbos, synonymous with this vineyard. A graceful, light to medium bodied palate with crunchy red fruit, herbs and pepper followed by fresh linear tannins on the finish. Consciously made lighter and fresher in style than previous vintages, will age well for 5 – 8 years.

The Chakalaka mix is made with sea salt, peppers, peppercorns, cumin, cardamom, onion, garlic, cloves, coriander, bay leaves, chillies and cinnamon.  Add some flavour to roast chicken, lamb or beef dishes. Store in a cool, dry place.

Our onion marmalade is made with onions, balsamic vinegar, sugar, bay leaves, balsamic glaze and cinnamon. Enjoy with cheese, meat or as a spread. Store in a cool dry place. Once opened, keep refrigerated.

Green Fig Preserve is made with sugar, lemon juice and ginger. Enjoy with a slice of whole grain bread, a cheese platter or pair it with a traditional Cape Malay Curry. Store in a cool, dry place. Once opened, keep refrigerated.

Our Fairview Sweet & Sour Peppers with Chilli is a deliciously tangy, sweet, sour and hot yellow-pepper jelly. A perfect companion of Camembert,Brie or Blue Cheese. Goes well with Chicken, pasta or tapas. REFRIGERATE AFTER OPENING.
