Que syrah, syrah! While genetically, Shiraz and Syrah are the same grape, the wine they produce can be very different in style, depending on origin. As the name suggests, our Syrah grapes were sourced from Elim, 8kms from the sea, producing this intense ad full of character red!

Head to the southernmost tip of Africa, where the Atlantic ocean crashes into the Indian. Here there is no fence, no guards – only the vines, battered by biting gales, cool coastal summers and unseasonal rainfall. Under these unforgiving conditions, and what’s left after the birds have taken their share, Syrah grapes thrive. Grown in the Elim ward, this elegant red expresses the spicy side of the variety, with dark chocolate and white pepper on the nose and just the slightest hint of saltiness reflecting the true maritime origin.
