As offered in our Tasting Room, the Classic Case is a compilation of our Classic Tasting. With winning varieties that are crowd favourites and easy drinking, this case is a surefire way to impress at the dinner table.

This case consists of:

Fairview Darling Sauvignon Blanc

A consistent best-seller at Fairview, our Sauvignon Blanc was first introduced when Charles Back went on a mission to find the best local soils to match the varieties, and acquired this cool climate land in Darling. With notes of passion fruit accompanied by bright citrus aromas on the nose, this is a full, rich and textured wine. You can't go wrong.

Fairview Paarl Chenin Blanc

While our Darling Chenin may be lively, our Paarl Chenin is more honest, expressing the typical character of the variety. Charming and fragrant, this substantive white shares snatches of gentle citrus and tropical fruit notes with a fresh rounded palate.

Fairview Mourvèdre

If you love Cabernet Sauvignon then you should sit up and listen to Mourvèdre. This full-bodied and rustic wine that originated in Spain is very well suited to the warm slopes of Paarl, producing vanilla and dark cherry aromas and a savoury, well integrated palate.

Fairview Pinotage

Our national grape, Pinotage arose from Prof. Perold's crossing of Cinsaut (also known as Hermitage) and Pinot Noir. We've opted to create a lighter style Pinotage, achieving assertive freshness and subtle oak. Lively, flavoursome and very South African. A perfect gift for a foreign friend.

Fairview Shiraz

As a Fairview speciality, with the first Shiraz vines planted on the farm in 1960, this bold wine is crafted from a selection of the best parcels of Shiraz found here on our farm. This one's a keeper - a very expressive and spicy red that will mature well over the next 5-8 years.

Fairview Petite Sirah

In keeping with his innovative repertoire, Charles Back introduced the Petite Sirah mother block to South African soils in 2004. Indulge in a deep red, full bodied wine offering intense plum characters, a robust palate with juicy tannins and an elegant finish with hints of lingering pepper. Pretty much the best thing since sliced Fairview bread.
