The grapes used to produce Fairview Sauvignon Blanc are harvested from our cool vineyards at Darling, on the west coast of South Africa. For this reason we have chosen to proudly include the origin of the grapes on the front label. Riesling grapes are harvested from our vineyards on the hills near the town of Darling. These vineyards are some 300 metres above sea level and are cooled by breezes from the Atlantic ocean. This wine is produced in an off-dry style.
A change in regulation in South Africa now allows us to label true Riesling as exactly that, dropping the Rhine or Weisser prefix. This was used in the past to differentiate the true Riesling from Crouchen Blanc, which is also known as Paarl or Cape Riesling in South Africa.Read more »
